Take a Hike!

As society in general focuses more and more both on health and on the benefits of eco-recreation, states such as Arizona have taken their place in the sun a premium destinations for trail lovers of all stripes. The conditions in Arizona are perfect for any hiking enthusiast. Ever planned a hiking trip for a couple days, maybe even months, only to have to cancel at the last minute because there is just too much rain in the forecast? Well, this is one event that is not likely to occur in the state of Arizona; the little rain that does fall is almost always predictable, and it’s unlikely that your planned hike will ever have to be cancelled due to the rain.

More to the point, the state of Arizona and all of its municipalities and communities are very aware of the blessing that the natural landscape provides. From metropolises such as Phoenix and Scottsdale right down to the planned community level in places such as McCormick Ranch and Arcadia, hiking trails literally criss cross the landscape.

The beauty of a hike in Arizona, of course, is that you are guaranteed to be walking through landscapes that are unlike any other on earth. You can expect to see a lot of the giant Saguaro cacti dotting the landscape, with all of the unique bird life that these desert plants attract. If you are hiking in the spring, you will enjoy a sight that relatively few people on earth will ever see as these cacti go into bloom. If you are really lucky, you might even catch glimpses of some of the many species of wildlife that call the state home, such as deer, falcons, and various other animals.

Arizona offers hiking trails that cover the whole range of experience, from easy community walks to medium jaunts that stretch for a few miles, to grueling treks over mountain ranges or even (for the very adventurous!) hikes deep into the Sonoran desert, where you will truly experience nature in its most rugged and pristine form.

If you like to hit the trails, then Arizona is definitely a great place to live. There are hiking opportunities all over the state, you just have to remember to bring your water bottle in order to enjoy them!
